Plot

After a treaty between India and United Kingdom to expedite extradition is passed, Colonel Viren Nanda is murdered by terrorist Omar Zafar in London. Omar orders a $5 million reward for an Indian thief to steal the Koh-i-Noor diamond, so as to hold up the treaty. Rajveer Nanda steals it, and requests $20 million as Omar's men aim to retrieve it. After a subsequent brawl, Rajveer meets Harleen Sahni in a restaurant waiting for her blind date. Rajveer assumes the date, and the pair fall in love, but he is forced to abandon her after being found by Omar's men. Harleen leaves upon learning the truth, but bumps into Rajveer, who seeks her help to remove a bullet. Before leaving, he drugs and informs her of scare tactics law enforcement officials will use to try and coerce her into working against him.

The next day, Zorawar Kalra and his informer, Inspector Bhola, implore Harleen to travel with them to a safe place; taking note of Rajveer's instructions, she finds a pistol and holds them at gunpoint. Rajveer soon appears and the pair escape, but meet Harleen's manager, Karan Saxena, who Rajveer shoots in the leg. Harleen asks to go home, leading to an argument over their loyalties, but eventually decides to stay. Rajveer later reveals he stole the Koh-i-Noor, and the pair are confronted by Zorawar and his team. Rajveer shoots Harleen with a tranquilizer dart and they escape, with Harleen waking up at a beach shack. After taking Rajveer's phone to call her grandmother, which allows government officials to track them, a shootout ensues which forces them to escape to Prague.

Rajveer and Harleen track Hamid Gul, Omar's right-hand-man, at a casino, and he ultimately kills Gul. Harleen is taken to the Indian Embassy, where Zorawar gives her a tracking device to pinpoint Rajveer's location and retrieve the Koh-i-Noor. After an argument on a bridge, Rajveer activates the tracking device himself, gives the Koh-i-Noor to Harleen, and jumps after being shot, and is assumed dead. Harleen meets Rajveer's father, Pankaj, and his mother Shikha, and learns Rajveer served in the army and is considered legally dead after being presumed to have drowned on a mission. Harleen is later kidnapped and meets Omar, who reveals the diamond is fake and learns Zorawar works for Omar. Omar gives Harleen truth serum in an attempt to find the location of the real diamond, but a shootout ensues when Rajveer arrives.

He reveals the Koh-i-Noor was not stolen while he is on a joint operation between the MI6 and the Indian Secret Service to apprehend Omar. As timed bombs set by Rajveer destroy Omar's hideout, Omar escapes with Harleen on a plane; Rajveer eventually kills Omar and the pair jump out of the burning aircraft. Rajveer loses consciousness and starts to drown, but is saved by Harleen and wakes up in hospital, where he is informed by his handler that he will not be allowed to see Harleen again. Harleen, posing as a nurse, then administers a sedative and the pair escape. After an unknown period on the run, Rajveer is eventually reunited with his parents.
